Following the publication of the qualitative study of the types and mechanisms of gender-based violence against adolescent girls and the response to their needs in terms of services, carried out by UNFPA and CREDIF within the framework of the Joint Program for the Amelioration of the Care for Women and Girls Victims of Violence, the two partners have carried-out an awareness-raising action within the framework of this same program, highlighting the results of the study aiming to generating collective awareness of the importance of preventing violence against adolescent girls.
This is how the short film "Bisklet" was born. It first aired in December 2020, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Since then, several screenings and debates have taken place in several regions of Tunisia.
This year, the short film was shortlisted for the 7th edition of the Human Screen Festival, a biennial film event that highlights films addressing human rights issues.
The 7th edition of the Festival took place from March 8 to 12, 2022, with the main theme this year being the rights of women and marginalized groups. Several screenings of the short film were organized in different regions of Tunisia, some followed by a debate in the presence of the film crew.
